FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
- How many pictures are included in my wedding
package?
We take an unlimited amount of digital pictures. Our goal is to provide
500 to 800 quality pictures, however, we common exceed 900, and have been in dual
photographer weddings where over 2600 have been taken. Length of
coverage will dictate actual images.
- Why so many pictures?
Because it its our joy to photograph your wedding. We love weddings, and
we love what we do. When you are truly passionate about your work,
the art dictates you never hesitate to take a picture, for in those moments,
great images are lost.
Because our photography is photojournalistic in nature, not purely traditional
(see Photojournalistic vs. Traditional here).
That means we don't just take pictures of posed groupings. We take
pictures while you're getting ready, before the ceremony, during the ceremony,
at the reception, etc. And we photograph everything from the details of
your dress, to the food you served, table settings, dancing, toasting...we are
photographers, taking pictures is what we do, and we love it.
Some
photographers offer packages that include 3 rolls of film at the ceremony, 2
rolls at the reception, etc.; we could never stand for those kinds of
limitations. If something fun, or exciting, or emotional is happening,
we want to be photographing it.
- How do I know if you are available for my date?
Please contact
us by email or phone to check availability.
- Are you available for rehearsal dinners?
Yes, we are available to record rehearsal dinners and any other event you may
have. Additional fees apply based on location and duration, subject to availability.
- What kind of equipment do you use?
Primarily, professional digital & film Canon camera bodies, flashes and
lens. We also use professional level equipment from Sigma,
Monfrotto-Bogen, Metz, Tamron, Cokin and more - our system is designed to
provide the highest quality digital images, in the least obtrusive way.
Our wedding camera system is completely interchangeable to prevent unforeseen complications or
accidents, and we always carry back up equipment.
- Why do you shoot primarily digital?
As photographers, we live in an exciting time. Digital is one of the
great revolutions in the industry during the last 100 years.
Once infantile, the technology has now matured. Digital imaging allows
us to do things that were difficult or impossible
with film. Every picture we take can be either Color or Black &
White or Sepia toned or any combination you can imagine. Basic retouching is free. Special effects and enhancements can be done in minutes, rather than hours. Digital
imaging, processing and enhancing allows us to keep our prices low. Our
goal since opening Gideon Studios has been to provide premium wedding
photography at affordable prices; by keeping our processing costs low, we
are able to provide high quality images in some of the finest albums
available, at prices for any budget.
- What is included in the On-Line Website?
We hand select the best of your images, expect at least 60, more if desired
and place them in an online galleries, usually with in 10 days of your
wedding. At your request, we password protect the album and will
provide all guests at the reception with the password. Images are stored
online for 1 year from date of your wedding. During that time your
family and guests can purchase affordable prints from the gallery, from 4x5 to
11x14 prints.
- How can I reserve a date?
Reserving a date requires a small deposit and a booking agreement,
which details the services you expect from me, and the total fees for the
wedding. Please
contact
us for more information on reserving a date.
