WEDDING PHOTOJOURNALISM vs TRADITIONAL
There
are two main types in of wedding photography, Traditional and Photojournalistic, and it pays to understand the difference, and what your personal preferences
are, so you can make an appropriate, informed decision.
Traditional wedding photographers tend to take mostly posed shots of people in
calculated groups. With this style, the photographs tend to serve as more of a record of who
attended your wedding.
Photojournalistic wedding photographers tend to try to remain as unobtrusive as
possible, looking for fleeting moments to capture the emotions, embraces, excitement, joy
and tears. Their goal is to capture the story and atmosphere of the day, and assemble it
into a wedding album that tells the complete story of your wedding day. Wedding photojournalism is typically
more candid and artistic.
Most photographers fall someplace between the two.
At Eric Ryan Photography, our goal is to provide a complete story book of your special day, in a primarily photojournalistic style, while also capturing
traditional groupings as you request. We aim to capture the moments you couldn't see
in your excitement,
the emotions you wish to remember forever, and the flavor of day you have worked
so hard for.
Our
greatest compliment is when someone tells us how much they love an image, and
didn't even see us take it!
